Stations

West Lake Fire Department was the first fire department in Millcreek Township. It began operations in 1937 and has been all volunteer since. Today, Millcreek Township houses five fire departments with a total of seven fire stations. West Lake currently operates out of two of these fire stations, 48 and 49.

Station 48


Station 48 is WLFD's primary station. It is located at the intersection of West 8th Street and Powell Avenue. Station 48 currently holds Truck 487, Engine 482, Engine 483, and Rescue 488. Inside of the station, there is a chiefs office, a crew lounge, sleeping quarters, a meeting hall, a kitchen, a workshop, and a truck bay, which is capable of holding 5 pieces of apparatus.

Station 49


Station 49 is WLFD's secondary station. It is located just west of Peninsula Drive on West 12th Street. Inside is a crew lounge and a truck bay, which is capable of holding 2 pieces of apparatus. Rescue 485 and Rescue Boat 486 are held at station 49. The trench rescue trailer is also held at this station.
