Technical Rescue

    West Lake Fire Department covers a territory which provides many unique aspects to firefighting and rescue. WLFD covers Erie International Airport, Railroad tracks, Lake Erie, Presque Isle, cliffs, and the Bay. Due to all of this territory, WLFD is dedicated to being efficient in all areas of rescue including Ropes & High Angle Rescue, Water Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, and Trench Rescue.

Ropes & High Angle Rescue

Dive Team

    The Millcreek Water Rescue Team is made up of members of the West Lake Fire Department along with members of other Millcreek fire departments. Although the team is sponsored by WLFD, any member of a Millcreek Township Fire Department is eligible to join. To join the team, a prospective dive must complete a 30 hour class, receive all certifications that are required by the Water Rescue Team and perform several practice dives.
